У м.Анкарі (Туреччина) з 4 до 9 серпня 2009р. проходив чемпіонат світу з вільної боротьби серед юніорів. У змаганнях дівчат чемпіонкою світу у ваговій категорії до 55 кг стала студентка ІІІ курсу Львівського училища фізичної культури Юлія Благіня. У фіналі львів’янка виявилася сильнішою за латвійку Анастасію Григорьєву. Срібну медаль світової першості везе додому третьокурсниця Ірина Гусяк. У фіналі вагової категорії до 59 кг Іра поступилася росіянці Катерині Мельниковій.
Свій внесок у «срібний» успіх української жіночої збірної зробила і студентка І курсу Марія Лівач, яка у ваговій категорії до 48 кг посіла 5 місце. У ½ фіналу Марія поступилася майбутній чемпіонці Фуюко Мімурі. На 5 місці і цьогорічна випускниця відділення вільної боротьби УФК Оксана Ващук. Оксана також у півфінальній2 сутичці поступилася чемпіонці росіянці Наталії Воробйовій. На 5 місці і минулорічна випускниця Ірина Нетреба (в/к до 63 кг). у півфіналі Ірина поступилася шведці Ханні Йохансон, яка також стала чемпіонкою.
Студентки ІІ курсу Мар’яна Безрука і Анжела Клещева відповідно на 8 і 16 місцях у ваговій категорії до 51 і 44 кг. Таким чином, з 8 учасниць збірної України семеро представників відділення вільної боротьби Львівського училища фізичної культури. У командній першості збірна України на ІІ місці (50 оч.), попереду росіянки (67 оч.), позаду – японки (47 оч.)
